Momento

So in class we just watched Momento in class, mmm and i loved it. And as Mr. K knows, as for the rest of my class, a lot of these films we watched I haven't LOVED. This movie was really intense and action filled which I again don't always enjoy. But the way it was played made it really fun to watch. So it's played backwards and that makes you have to really pay attention and notice the little details about it. All the crazy stuff that happens, makes my mind run. Like, who to believe in the end.It kind of makes me angry that there is no answer to it.. but then again you sort of get to pick the ending then because you believe who you want to. It's all about believing who you want in the movie(like for the characters) so you feel like you're in it too.

And the main character, Guy Pearce is pretty cute..

Australia ---> longgg

So I don't really go to movies that often, but I recently saw Australia. It's a love story, but also an action movie. Nicole Kidman is one of my favorite actresses so it really helped.. for me to enjoy this movie. It was awfully long, but I enjoyed it in the end. She moves down to Australia to try to get her husband back, and ends up falling in love with a new man, the land, a boy later to be considered her 'son' everything about it. I would for sure recommend it. It was emotioinal and intense. It made me always want to know what was going to happy next. This is the trailer to it.. Take a look. And go see it. It is a very inspiring story. I really enjoyed this movie.

Also, look at the webpage it's all about it.

Western Unit

I personally was not a big fan of the Western unit. I think their too much alike. Like, each film has the same idea behind then next one. It's also very degrading of women, for the most part. It's not that I don't enjoy them, some I do, but the whole idea behind a "western" film is the part I don't like. If I had to pick what I preferred, I would for sure say a revisionist western. Probably just because their not so stereotypical towards women and Indians. For my Journal#3 I watched Young Guns. I HATED IT. It was too much for me. I usually tend to like scary movies, but this was just too much. There was tons and tons of shoot outs, the whole thing was killing people, or trying to kill people. I thought the plot was kind of silly. Don't watch it... I'm not sure where this is going but me saying what I dislike about westerns, so maybe I'll stop.

Citizen Cane

This movie overall was kind of confusing. I enjoyed the story behind it all but it jumped around so much it was hard to follow at times. The whole movie is about trying to discover what his last words were linked to, and what they ment to his life. 'Rosebud' was his last word, along with holding the snow globe. We eventually learn that that leads all the way back to his childhood. It was one of his last childhood memories, which to me seems like a funny thing to remember so vividly. In class we disscused if we thought that this gave us all our answers to his life, and I don't think it did. Yes, 'rosebud' was significant, and yes, it was something in his life he did not require to love him back, but it did not give us he reasonings to why he acted the ways he did, and why he treated people the way he did. I can see where some people would recognize that as a good way to describe his life in one word. But I think a life could never be described through just one word. From what we saw in his life, I'm sure there is a lot more things he could use to describe his. 'Rosebud' was obviously a big part in Kane's life from his childhood all the way to his adulthood, just not as descriptive for others as it was to him.

Art of Film

I have art of film with Mr. Klobuchar, 2nd hour.
I enjoy this class so far, but I haven't gotten a chance to get into it yet. I would really like to do more hands on things, and film watching. Which I know will happen eventually.
